Description

This was supposed to be uploaded on the first day of Chinese New Year, but I fussed with this guy's markings a lot so it's 5 days late.

But hey, there are 15 days of Chinese New Year, so as long as it's not past the 15th day it should be alright. XD

Brief Flare Lore

Flares are creatures from the spirit world, the helpers of the great spirit, Jinhu. Their duty is to guide those who are lost back to where they belong, be it wandering spirits that escaped the spirit world, or lost children and travellers. They do this using the wisp at the end of their tail, but despite their good intentions, most living creatures, including humans, mistake their tails for the ghostly fires of malevolent spirits. Their true forms are only fully visible to those who are at peace with themselves. They are a genderless type of spirit that have existed since ancient times and live very long lives.

Southern Flares have smaller, domestic cat-like bodies compared to the other 3 Flares, which makes their movements rather nimble. They spend most of their time atop trees and on rooftops. While trying to attract spirits, they often jump around, so people have called their tail wisps the "Leaping Flames". They mainly work in the Southern regions of the world, and are said to be the most agile of the four types of Flares.
